The MedTech Color Annual Networking Breakfast is our marquee event to drive our core pillar of building a strong, diverse network of mentors and sponsors who champion thought leadership and innovative clinical advancement. This event is held in conjunction with The MedTech Conference, the largest medical device conference in the world, sponsored by AdvaMed. Each year we bring together diverse leaders within the industry to strengthen this community, discuss ways to continue to increase representation, and drive thought leadership. The event includes a keynote speaker, breakout networking rooms led by sponsor organizations, and a delicious breakfast. Esteemed keynote speakers have included Kevin Lobo, CEO of Stryker and Brooke Story, President of Integrated Diagnostic Solutions, BD.

2022 Thought Leader Spotlight

Cynthia Reese is Director, External Partnerships and Community for Global Inclusion Diversity and Equity at Medtronic, a leading global healthcare solutions company. In this role, Cynthia is responsible for strategic oversight and relationship management of enterprise partnerships that enable Medtronic’s IDE strategy. Those include partnerships such as OneTen, SHPE (Society of Hispanic Engineers) and HRC (Human Rights Campaign), to name a few.

  • Mitigating bias in talent processes
  • Data analytics and transparency, which drives accountability for progress and highlights gaps to inform actions
  • Representation goals for 2026 – women to hold 45% of manager and above roles and ethnically diverse to hold 30% of manager and above roles. Today 26% of manager and above roles are held by ethnically diverse leaders.
  • Differentiated development programs to develop, mentor, and sponsor diverse individuals to elevate in their careers.

Thank you to Brooke Story for being an outstanding keynote speaker at the 2021 Breakfast!

Brooke Story, World Wide President of Integrated Diagnostic Solutions, BD as the keynote speaker for the MedTech Color Annual Networking Breakfast.

Brooke Story joined BD in April 2021 and is responsible for driving global strategic, operational and commercial performance and customer experience across the BD IDS portfolio of solutions and along the diagnostic continuum, including Specimen Management, Molecular Diagnostics, Microbiology and Women’s Health & Cancer. She is a global industry leader with more than 20 years of general management and commercial experience in large medical device corporations with a prolific history of inspiring large teams, mentoring and developing diverse talent, and delivering economic value to the organization. Prior to joining BD, Brooke served as president, Pelvic Health and Gastric Therapies at Medtronic, where she led the organization in bringing life-restoring solutions for pelvic floor disorders to patients around the globe. Over her more than 15 years with the company, she held several other leadership roles, including vice president of Sales, Great Lakes Region, Neuroscience Group and vice president of Upstream Marketing, Neuroscience. Brooke earned an MBA from the University of Michigan and her bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
