MedTech Color Pitch Competition has searched for the next generation of fearless founders innovating and diversifying MedTech. African American founders are the fastest growing demographic of entrepreneurs out of any throughout history. These founders are best equipped to solve some of the world’s largest unmet needs. However, Black and LatinX entrepreneurs are met with the greatest barriers to accessing capital.
On March 8th, MedTech Color will team up with NIH SEED, ResMed, Olympus, California Health Care Foundation, and other industry leading sponsors to provide a projected $100K – $250K in cash and services to Black & Brown Founders to accelerate the growth of their MedTech startup. The Top 10 finalists will pitch their innovative technologies at this virtual event for a chance to win. Register today to attend!

The Competition
After completing a mini-accelerator with MedTech Color, the Top 10 Pitch Submitters will present their innovative technologies to our esteemed judges and MedTech guests for a chance to win.
Prizes and special prizes
MedTech Color will invest $100K – $250K in the top three companies with cash and in-kind services. The first-place winner will receive $25,000, second place will receive $15,000, and third place will receive $10,000.
ResMed will select one (1) of the TOP 10 businesses to work within ResMed for 6 months with their corporate team. This special prize includes 6 months of Corporate Membership and Co Building, $25,000 in capital, as well as access to labs, equipment, etc.
Harvard Catalyst Post Education will select three (3) of the TOP 10 business to participate in TRANSforming Care with Emerging, Novel Devices (TRANSCEND)– a 5 week hybrid course that explores the current climate for the development of class II and class III medical devices.
California Life Sciences will select one (1) California based company from all MTC Pitch Competition applicants to be fast tracked into the 2022 FAST Program, an intensive 12-week team review and coaching program.
Texas Medical Center Innovation shall provide one (1) automatic entry spot in the 2022 Accelerator Bootcamp to a Top 10 finalist, where they will have curated engagements with strategic business advisors and health system stakeholders with a focus on supporting preparedness for studies or implementations with health systems and research institutions in the Texas Medical Center and beyond.
MedTech Innovator will offer a fast pass to the Top 10 Pitch Applicants to pitch during the MedTech Innovator 2022 Road Tour, where they will be in contention for up to $500k in prizes.

In-person Attendees
Ticket ($25) includes lunch during the networking hour and refreshments after the competition, as well as access to networking opportunities with industry leaders and competition finalists. The event starts with the networking hour at 11 am PST.Parking: Spaces are limited at the BioScienceLA venue. We recommend using ride share and plan to arrive early.COVID-19 protocol: Temperature and vaccination status will be checked. Temperature readings 100° or greater and unvaccinated in-person attendees will be denied entry to the event. Masks must be worn when entering the venue. *As we continue to monitor COVID-19 positivity rates in the region, we will make the necessary adjustments regarding hosting an in-person event.
