A Day in the Life

This Distinguished engineer position is a key technical role that will be responsible for developing and growing the newly created Robotics Technology Development Center (TDC) at Medtronic.  This TDC supports all robotics efforts across the company and helps drive Medtronic’s overall robotic strategy and execution.

This individual will lead and/or support projects that advance Medtronic’s broad range of product portfolios. They will work with technical leaders across the company to define and execute new robotic development, drive knowledge sharing between operating units, and support technical designs with a specific emphasis on the development of common components and architectures. This person will also be a key leader in identifying robotic technologies from other industries, translating these into solutions for Medtronic’s products, and then supporting product development for these projects.

This is a pivotal role within the TDC with visibility and technical influence at the highest levels of Medtronic and across the company. We are looking for a seasoned, inspiring, strategic-minded technical individual with extensive robotics expertise in multiple industries and a track record of both hands-on robotic platform creation as well as holistic view of scalable robotics solutions. The job requires excellent communication skills to enable fruitful collaboration across multiple business units in a large corporate environment.
